YMCA Summer Food Program Receives $3,400

At the 2nd quarter meeting on June 13th, Guys Who Give Clay County met at the Brazil Elks, here is a recap of the meeting:

  • The first speaker was Jeff Etling for The Rock out of Clay City. The Rock provides after school programming for school children, but more specifically they are trying to get funds right now for a basketball court.
  • The second speaker was Rick Koch for the Brazil First United Methodist Food Pantry. The food pantry is seeking funding for additional shelving and preparations to meet the requirements of Catholic Charities so the church can provide an additional opportunity to receive nutritional food in addition to the once a week community meal that the food pantry now provides.
  • The third speaker was Kevin Ringo for the Clay County YMCA’s Summer Food Program where kids get a nutritional lunch served every day at the First Baptist Church, they are expected to reach 500 children by the end of summer.
