YMCA program “The Promise” Awarded 3rd Quarter Grant!

 

If you missed the meeting last night, here is a recap of the presentations:

1. Rick Koch presented on behalf of the Brazil First United Methodist Church to support their food pantry which is striving to support the people in Clay County that are falling between the cracks.
 
2. Brian Deakins presented on behalf of the YMCA for the “The Promise” program where each child in Kindergarten is enrolled in a 529 college savings plan.
 
3. Larry Tempel presented on behalf of Staunton United Methodist Church on behalf of their food pantry which distributes 600-700 lbs of food once a month to people within walking distance.
 
 
Ultimately, the membership voted to fund the YMCA for “The Promise” program to get school children in Clay County started on the trajectory for college! You can learn more about Promise Indiana here.
