Vicki was born in Wabash, Indiana on August 6, 1942, the daughter of Wayne A. and Kathleen (Cash) Miser. Vicki graduated from Wabash High School with the class of 1960. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University in 1965 and her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Indiana State University in 1974. Mrs. Switzer worked for Clay Community Schools for her entire career having worked at Clay City, Meridian Street, Van Buren, Staunton, and East Side elementary schools.

Vicki married John Switzer on July 31, 1965. Together they enjoyed amateur Astronomy, studying and observing the night skies. She was a member of Tri Kappa and often volunteered her time serving on boards and sharing her love of reading. She had a deep love for animals. She also enjoyed playing golf, being involved in the bridge club and the reading club.

Vicki passed away on March 9, 2019. Donations made in her memory will be added to the Vicki Switzer Memorial Fund held within the Clay County Community Foundation, an affiliate of Wabash Valley Community Foundation, Inc. To contribute, please click here.
