Judy Harris was born on July 22, 1951, in Sullivan, Indiana, to Robert E. and Marjorie L. Halberstadt. She was auditor of Sullivan County for several years, and also spent many years working at the Sullivan County Courthouse.

Judy was a member of the Sullivan County Community Foundation, having most recently completed her term as Sullivan County Community Foundation board president and representative to the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, the West Central Economic Board, and served offices on the Democratic Central Committee and Sullivan County Parks and Lake.

Judy was well-known for her generosity of time, talent and treasure in supporting non-profit organizations throughout the community. Sullivan County, and the Wabash Valley as a whole, benefited from Judy’s hard work, determination and support in making our communities better places to work and live.
We have lost a generous, kind and thoughtful member of the Community Foundation family. It is with warm memories and deep gratitude that we remember her commitment to Sullivan County and the Wabash Valley.
