Investing to Make More Possible

Since 1992, generous donors have entrusted the Community Foundation with more than $49 million to support our communities through a permanent endowment. These donors share a belief in investing today to create opportunity and positive change for generations to come. Their generosity allows us to Make More Possible, now and in the future.

Grants as Community Investments

We view grants as partnerships with your organization. Our goal is to invest in projects that generate the greatest return in positive community impact by addressing root causes and reducing long-standing challenges. As Robert D. Lupton, author of Toxic Charity, notes, meaningful impact requires missions that produce measurable results.

Focus on Outcomes

We have a fiduciary responsibility to our donor-investors to evaluate grants based on outcomes. Applicants must clearly identify the intended results of their projects, particularly if invited to submit a full proposal. A focused vision and commitment to evaluation are essential to creating lasting impact and making more possible.

Grant Application Process

Grant distribution committees made up of local community volunteers review each submitted Statement of Intent. Projects that address significant needs and demonstrate strong potential for positive outcomes may be invited to submit a full proposal for further consideration.
