The Vigo County Firefighters Memorial Statue Project

In remembrance of those who proudly served Vigo County but whose lives were cut short by the hazards of the job. We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of protecting the citizens of Terre Haute and Vigo County. We remember. We commemorate. We honor.

Designed to commemorate Vigo County Fire Department members who lost their lives, the memorial will consist of a bronze statue resting beside a granite wall. A walkway leading to the memorial will be comprised of dedicated bricks. The statue is designed by an Indiana native and nationally-renowned bronze sculptor, Bill Wolfe.

The memorial project will be funded by monetary and in-kind donations ranging from the corporate level to individuals. Tax-deductible donations can be made online, via U.S. mail, or in person to the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, 200 South 8th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807 for the Vigo County Firefighters Memorial Project.

The entirely volunteer-based Memorial Fundraising Committee aims to raise $70,000 for the project’s design development, with a total estimated project cost of $250,000.

Memorial bricks with prices ranging from $100 or $200 are available for purchase. These engraved bricks may be personalized to commemorate or honor individuals, families, or organizations in support of our lost Firefighters.
