“Blessed for Another Day” – Matt Luecking Memorial Endowment Fund

Fund Purpose:

The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support annually to one of the following charitable organizations on a rotating basis:

-Vigo County Education Foundation with the stipulation that it is to be used to fund mini grants related to radio or music

-Terre Haute Parks Department with the stipulation that it be used for programming and/or equipment purchases within the various parks

-Terre Haute Children’s Museum

Fund Story:

Matt Luecking never met a stranger. He always had a big smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he met. He was passionate about many things including music, his community, Indiana State University basketball, his tennis game and his family.

Matt was a graduate of Indiana State University and worked at Terre Haute Savings Bank. The sole owner and operator of Showtime Music for the last 26 years, Matt rocked parties, weddings, and for anyone who wanted to have a great time. Additionally, Matt held several positions at various Wabash Valley radio stations throughout the last 20 years, ranging from on-air personality to Program Director.

Matt had wide-ranging interests including watching Indiana State basketball, playing basketball with friends, and participating in a tennis league. More importantly, community service was at his core as a member of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce. His contributions to the community were vast.

In the early morning hours of October 24, 2016, Matt was taken from us much too soon. As we struggle to make sense of this senseless act, there is a desire among his friends and family to ensure Matt’s legacy lives on. For this reason, the Blessed for Another Day: Matt Luecking Endowment has been created through the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. This endowment will ensure Matt’s legacy and his love for the community lives on by supporting programs close to his heart.
