Clay Community Parks Association gains local funding!

If you missed the meeting last night, don’t fret! Here is a recap:

First, we want to thank the Brazil Public Library for allowing us to have our meeting in their space, we really appreciate that as the Elks is renovating their 2nd floor. The next meeting we should be back to our usual location! We also want to give a HUGE thank you to Riddell National Bank for sponsoring the refreshments at our meeting!

We had two nominations last night:

First, we heard from Cindi Monds who spoke on behalf of the Clay Community Parks Board Association. The Association is currently raising funds to add a foot bridge to connect the North and South parts of the trail at Craig Park, allowing park-goers to circumnavigate the entire lake. The Association is up for a $250,000 grant from the DNR but needs to come up with a $50,000 match.

Next, we heard from Nancy Briscoe who spoke on behalf of the Northview Band Boosters. The most current need for the band is for a new drum major podium that is bigger and more sturdy than the current podium. The current estimate for the podium is $3,000. Nancy spoke about how hard everyone associated with the band works to raise money for just the annual budget, let alone any additional items like this podium.

After some deliberation and voting, the members in attendance voted to fund…

The Clay Community Parks Board Association!
