Clay City Band Boosters get a BIG boost!

Good morning 100 Women Who Care! Thank you to everyone who came last night and helped to make our meeting a success. A special thank you to Renee Stewart and her team at Miller & Stewart for sponsoring the refreshments at the meeting last night and for providing emcees to host! If you or your business would be willing to provide the snacks at meetings, please let me know, they are an asset to the social hour portion of our meeting.

If you weren’t able to make it last night, here is a recap:

First, Renee Stewart spoke on behalf of the Clay County Historical Society who needs funds for repairs to the building which has been placed on the National Historical Landmark Register. They need a new sidewalk, they need to repair leaks, repair plaster and leaks and they also need a new computer and new security cameras.

Second, Pam Fischer spoke for Be Nice Be Kind whose mission is to spread kindness in Clay County. They are currently reaching into schools to help drug problems within the youth and to help teachers help students. With the funds from 100 Women, this group would take the funds and distribute them equally to the elementary schools in Clay County to allow the teachers to have funds to pull from to assist them in helping their students.

Last, we heard from Renee Stewart again for the Clay City Band Boosters who are in desperate need of uniforms. The band just received first place in a contest just this past weekend, but are currently wearing clothing from Goodwill for their performance attire. These funds would help pay for uniforms (total cost approximately $15,000 – $25,000) and performance fees.

After some consideration, the membership voted to fund…
