Terre Haute, IND. – The Wabash Valley Community Foundation recently awarded a 25th Anniversary Grant in the amount of $1,000 to Clay Community Parks Association. The grant will be used to purchase a piece of playground equipment for Craig Park in Brazil, Indiana.
Cindi Monds, President of the Clay Community Parks Association, says members of the organization will add either a Jungle Gym or a Climbing Wall in the spring of 2018. The playground equipment will provide additional free play opportunities for local children and/or visitors to the area.
“The children who use the equipment will have increased opportunities for physical, mental and social benefits while enjoying the fun of playing in Craig Park,” explained Monds. “Some of these benefits include musculature development, strength and posture improvements as well as enhanced hand-eye coordination. Children will also have occasions to increase their imagination and problem-solving skills through creative play alone and with others.”
