2024 Annual Report

Dear Friends:

I am pleased to present the 2024 Annual Report of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. Thanks to our generous donors, 2024 was a record-making year that will have an ongoing, permanent impact on Clay, Sullivan and Vigo counties.

In 2024, our donors helped the Community Foundation achieve a major milestone – surpassing $100 million in total assets. At the end of the year, the Community Foundation had nearly $113 million in total assets making it the 10^th largest community foundation in Indiana. Since opening in 1992, the Community Foundation has had more than 13,000 donors. Residents in the three counties we serve are passionate about improving their community and its quality of life.

Those efforts are evidenced in the $4.6 million in grants and scholarships awarded last year. Your dollars are rooted in your community and will continue to reap benefits year after year.

In addition to the grants and scholarships provided by these endowed funds, the Community Foundation has played a role in helping Sullivan County residents following the devastating tornado that took three lives and destroyed around 250 homes and businesses nearly two years ago. Donations from across Indiana and beyond have been instrumental in helping those in need and significant progress was made in 2024. It has been heart-warming to see the rebuilding taking place in Sullivan. A full report detailing these efforts will be issued later this year.

Your generosity continues to make an impact on our community and its residents. While we can measure it in grants and scholarships provided, the true significance cannot be quantified. How do you measure the impact that helping a family rebuild their home will have on their lives and others, the contributions to society that our scholarship recipients will make after graduating, or the lifelong difference that top-notch cultural and recreational facilities may have?
