Due to recent decisions regarding the delay of the start of the 2020-2021 academic year, the Community Foundation has opted to extend its scholarship application deadline for its entire service area from August 25, 2020 to September 3, 2020.
This change was necessary to ensure all applicants have ample time to complete the application and obtain the required documentation. When area school corporations started announcing delays in the first student day due to events related to COVID-19, we realized the new timeline would not give students enough time to request and receive letters of recommendation from educators. With the extension of the application deadline, students will be able to settle in to the new school year without rushing to submit the application.
Though the deadline has been extended by over one week in all counties,we encourage students to visit our online application and complete as much information as possible. In doing so, students can submit as soon as they receive their letters of recommendation, which will allow time for Community Foundation staff to reach out with any questions or concerns regarding the student’s scholarship application.
The online application and accompanying forms may be accessed via wvcf.org/apply-online or by clicking here.
The application is open to high school seniors and/or those who will be enrolled in college in August 2021. Students planning to attend college next fall for the 2021-2022 academic year must apply now to be considered for scholarships ranging from $100 to full tuition, administered through the Community Foundation for the benefit of residents in Clay, Sullivan and Vigo counties. In addition, up to four full-time, four-year scholarships will be awarded to graduates of accredited high schools in, or residents of Clay, Sullivan or Vigo counties who will enter college for the first time in the fall of 2021. Other scholarships for students throughout the Wabash Valley are also available, including multi-year awards.
To determine your eligibility for the various scholarship opportunities, you may review the criteria prior to completing an application via wvcf.org/apply-online. The application is available now and will close promptly at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 3, 2020. If you have any questions regarding the scholarship application process, please contact Kelli via email at kelli@wvcf.org or via telephone at 812-232-2234.
