Sharon Adelman lived in Terre Haute for most of her life and was active in the community.
She graduated from Wiley High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After a distinguished career, she retired as an Area Manager from Manpower in 2003. During her twenty-seven years at Manpower, she led a large staff in twelve offices in Indiana and Illinois, including in Terre Haute, Bloomington, Lafayette, and Evansville. Her tenure at Manpower included frequent awards for achieving sales records and excellent performance results. She was known throughout the company and the markets she served for her strong worth ethic, leadership, consistency, and loyalty to the company and her staff and customers. Many of her professional relationships turned into her most treasured lifelong friendships.
Sharon participated in a variety of organizations. She held numerous leadership positions, including service on the boards of directors of the Terre Haute Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way of the Wabash Valley, and Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of the Wabash Valley. She was also a past member of the Terre Haute Rotary Club and P.E.O. Chapter K. During retirement, she continued to help people build their networks and find employment opportunities.
She enjoyed traveling domestically and internationally, visiting the beach, spending time in the sun, reading, and playing cards. Above all, she loved being with family and her large circle of friends. As those who were close to her know, her greatest wish was simply for people to be kind to each other.
Sharon passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, in Terre Haute.
Survivors include her two sons, Scott (Penny) Trilling of Bloomington, IN, and James Trilling of Arlington, VA, and three grandchildren, Jordan, Kendall, and Kyle Trilling.
